How long will my board battery last before it needs replacing?Updated 17 days ago

Most Evolve board batteries use lithium-ion cells, which typically last 700 to 1000 full charge cycles. That’s several years of regular riding for most people.

Over time, your battery’s capacity will gradually drop. For example, by around 500 cycles, it’s normal to notice reduced range — sometimes up to a 30–40% loss, depending on riding style, terrain, and conditions.

Battery lifespan depends on a few key things:

    •    How it’s used: Fast acceleration, hill climbs, and heavy loads can wear a battery faster.

    •    Where it’s stored: Batteries don’t like extreme heat or cold.

    •    How it’s charged: Constantly topping up the battery, or leaving it fully charged for long periods, can reduce life.

To get the most life out of your battery:

    •    Store it at around 40–50% charge if you’re not riding for a while.

    •    Avoid draining it to 0% regularly — it’s fine occasionally, but not all the time.

    •    Don’t leave it fully charged for weeks on end. Top it up before your ride, not days before.

    •    Keep it out of hot cars or cold garages.

If your board is a few years old and you’re noticing a big drop in range, the cells may be nearing the end of their life. If you’re unsure, we can check your battery and let you know what condition it’s in.
